Edmeades & Stromdahl, Ltd. offers 40 years of combined architectural experience. The firm was established in 1994 under principal, Paul D. Edmeades. Two years later, Mark C. Stromdahl joined as a principal. Since that time, the size, project experience, and award recognitions of the firm have grown steadily. The firm's background embraces an extensive range of building types and sizes including religious structures, schools, fire stations, public and private office buildings, health care facilities, shops and shopping centers, and public service buildings. Edmeades & Stromdahl has developed an expertise and sensitivity towards the differing design characteristics and demands of each individual project. The firm typically operates with a staff of 10 employees. Because of our size, each project is directed by a principal of the firm, thus sparing the clients communication problems inherent in working with a larger corporation. The day to day hands-on involvement of the owners allows the company to undertake the most challenging projects and coordinate them to a successful finish.
For every project, Edmeades & Stromdahl, Ltd. assembles a team of
consultants to assist with the project by providing the knowledge within their own
area of expertise. Each team shares the common goal to a commitment of
excellence. The basic task of each team member is to listen to our client,
discern their needs, offer solutions for project challenges, listen to their
feedback, and ultimately design a facility in which the ideas developed
throughout this process are fully synthesized.
From the start of each project the client is asked to consider their
long-term needs, which often surpass the capacity of the facility they are
currently able to construct. If this is the case, a master plan may be developed
allowing growth of the facility to occur in a well organized fashion. Master
planning is invariably a valuable exercise that can allow clients to easily
expand their facilities in the future.
Cost control is of primary concern to all members of the design team. Because of the extensive trade knowledge of each team member, we are able to advise clients about the cost implications of design decisions as they are made. Thorough cost analyses are completed at the end of each architectural design phase. With the cooperation of the client, architect, and consultants, our design teams have had a successful record in keeping projects within budget.
