Project Description:
The Ripken Museum was transformed from the council chambers in the old city hall building in Aberdeen, Maryland. Our responsibilities were interior design, space planning and exhibit design for the new museum. It was a challenging project in that we had to display the many aspects of the Ripken family baseball history into the space allotted. Included in this space are many display cases, video areas, interactive video areas and a gift shop. The museum flows well around the central exhibits and into the gift shop. Future expansion is planned for the museum. This space not only provided an ideal spot for the museum but also allowed us to preserve the building in which it is located.
