The scope of the project included an instructional/office building,  structural burn building, burn pad and simulated flammable liquids burn pit which were outfitted with propane burn module simulators. Also included in the complex was a flammable gas burn pad, a drafting tank, and an automobile extrication area. The site had extensive areas of wetlands which necessitated careful site design and location of the buildings, access road and fire training evolution areas. A holding pond was constructed to provide water for site use in the training exercises. The grading and drainage were designed to allow the water used in the exercises to be recycled back to the pond.
